Movie Review: Past Tense

Past Tense opens with Beh (Ai Ai de las Alas) in 2034 waking up from a twenty-year coma. Papa Time (Benjie Paras) gives her an offer to go back to her past to have a chance to her future state. She then return to 2014 as her younger self  Belle (Kim Chiu), the day when she met her crush Carlos (Daniel Matsunaga) and tried to influence her actions and the people surrounding her before the car accident happens that led to her coma. However, she was not able to stop herself meeting with Carlos, she then convinced her best friend Babs (Xian Lim) to pursue his feelings more towards her. Will it be a happy ending? Past Tense is a s weet, wonderful love story about second chances; and how timing and situations affect someone's feelings towards the people we love. Now that I've seen three romantic comedy movies from this pair, this definitely stands out because Kim and Xian evidently collaborate to make the scenes - comedy, drama, and romance work.  Aiai and Kim's com

"Tragic Theater: The Haunting of the Manila Film Center" Features Ace Actors Andi Eigenmann, Christopher de Leon, and John Estrada

Do you recall the recent accident that Andi Eigenmann got into during a shooting? This was for Viva Films latest feature horror film "Tragic Theater: The Haunting of the Manila Film Center" that was based on the book of G.M. Coronel. In February 1999, a group of spirit communicators attempted to exorcise the then-abandoned Manila  Film Center of ghosts. These supernatural beings were believed to be those of the victims from a fatal accident during its hasty construction.  Unknown to them, something had long ago taken sanctuary inside the building feeding on the anger and misery of the victims' souls. They learned this secret too late and walked into a horrifying encounter. Apart from Andi, she will be joined by Christopher de Leon and John Estrada. Directed by master filmmaker Tikoy Aguiluz, this horror film will open in Philippine cinemas on January 8, 2015.

No. 1 In the US Box Office, "Dumb and Dumber To" Set To Make Filipino Audience Into LOL Mood

Right timing and right story. The directors and actors of the 1994 hilarious smash hit Dumb and Dumber all agreed that if they were to make a sequel of this cult classic, it had to meet two prerequisities. 20 years later and the wait is over. Dumb And Dumber To finally reunites Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels as Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne, and the audience reception is remarkable. It opened in U.S. thetaers on the weekend of November 14, and with an earning of $38.1 million, it enjoyes the # 1 spot at the box office. In this sequel, Llloyd (Carrey) is seen confined in a mental hospital and is visited regularly by his best friend Harry (Daniels). He is in need of a new kidney, and he discovers that he has a daughter (Rachel Malvin) who could be a potential kidney donor. I-Witness’ 15th anniversary Special Features Unwavering Dream of A Typhoon Victim

There are nightmares that you bring even into your waking hours.  Tragedies so deep it seems the hurt may never heal. For the students of Bayug Elementary School, the horror still grip them, two years after Typhoon Sendong hit Iligan City. In the documentary “Batch 2012”, I-Witness shared the story of Limuel Gonzaga, who graduated salutatorian despite losing his mother, his home and his entire school to the massive flooding that destroyed his community. He may have lost everything, but not his dreams and his determination. He is now studying in a private school through the help of his sponsors.  Inside the classroom, Limuel sits in the middle surrounded by classmates much bigger than him. His shy and quiet demeanor belies the strength of a child who has stared death in the face and forges on even though faced with extreme poverty.  Not many of his classmates know that the “little guy” who ranks number one in class, sometimes goes to school hungry and completes his home

Kristofer Martin celebrated his birthday with media and fans

Last November 22, friends, media, and fans surprised Kapuso teen star Kristofer Martin with a birthday videoke night. The actor was teary eyed as people unfolded in his eyes with well-meant messages and gifts. He revealed that he got so emotional when people closest to him make an effort to make him special such as this.  Among his friends that came were Derick Monasterio and ex-girlfriend Joyce Ching whom he will be working again on a new teleserye, Tunay Na Ina. This is the first time that I got invited for a birthday celebration organized by GMA for their actors and I must say that this is a good strategy for them to build good relationships in the media and improve their interpersonal skills that will be of great help in order for them to strive in the industry.
