NUTRILITE™ KICKS OFF ITS 5TH HEALTH RUN

Nutrilite™, world’s No. 1 selling vitamins and dietary supplements brand[1], hosts the 5th edition of its annual Nutrilite™ Health Run, a national initiative that advocates wellness and healthy living.

This year, Nutrilite™ gathers almost 10,000 runners in Manila alone. “Amway advocates a holistic healthy active lifestyle. We are committed to our advocacy to encourage more people to prioritize their personal wellness. We want more people to live healthy by eating right, taking the right supplements and being active. Our annual Nutrilite™ Health Run is our proof of providing a sustaining health activity for all,” said Leni Olmedo, Country Manager, Amway Philippines.

This year’s Nutrilite™ Health Run covers four categories—1K, 5K, 10K and 21K respectively for both Manila and Davao.

“This year, we are adding the 21K together with the other distances. We acknowledge the fact that Filipino runners want to challenge themselves; and, having this distance as part of the race, in partnership with RUNRIO Events, Inc., participants are assured of first class race organization and management, and more importantly on the safety of our event. The run is something we are highly committed to -- to encourage a healthy active lifestyle among the Filipino community,” Olmedo added.

All 21K Finishers receive a Finisher’s Medal and Finisher’s Shirt as they cross the Finish Line. To top it all off, the 1st 21K runner to cross the finish line gets a P20,000 Cash Prize and the 1st 10K Finisher gets a P10,000 Cash Prize.

Runners get to win exciting raffle prizes and experience Amway brands such as Miyu and Achievers at the Race Village and both Amway Business Owners (ABOs) and non-ABOs enjoy activities like the Double X Challenge, where they have to compete in an inflatable obstacle. Other activities include Bike/Row Challenge and Exceed Your Limit Challenge where strength, endurance, speed, and agility are tested. Participants prepared for the run and the challenges through the free running clinics which were led by coach Rio dela Cruz.

The event is highlighted with the performance of Sponge Cola, their 3rd year participation and support to the annual Nutrilite™ Health Run.

Runners get to join the race for a very reasonable registration fee of PhP250, for the 1K, 5K and 10K, and PhP850 for the 21K.  Runners will also get a free Nutrilite™ Health Run shirt and race bib.

Proceeds of the run go to the Amway One By One Campaign for Children, Amway’s corporate social responsibility program. Amway Philippines has partnered with the Department of Education (DepEd) under the “Adopt-A-School Program” (ASP) with its literacy through storytelling project and so far the run has seen the completion of six library projects from 2005 to 2014.

With this, Amway also launches the Power of 5 where runners are considered donors and they have their hands printed on a wall to immortalize their contribution to helping the lives of more than ten thousand students and more annually in the six beneficiary schools nationwide.
