Aiai delas Alas Is Still the Comedy Box Office Queen

Aiai delas Alas has once regained her throne as the Comedy Box Office Queen with the high ticket sales that her film from Regal Entertainment "Our Mighty Yaya" has earned in its first week of showing. On opening day last May 10, the film grossed a whopping 6M that catapulted to 35M after a week of showing. Currently, on its second week, it draws a lot of moviegoers as good feedback spreads about the movie.

Yesterday, May 18, the production company's matriarch Mother Lily Monteverde threw a thanksgiving party for the success of the film. They're boasting the fact that the figures released were not padded and Mother even joked that she made her rich again. The gathering was attended by the stars and the friends from media atr 38 Valencia Events Place, San Juan City.

Aiai was full of gratitude with the box-office outcome of her film after she transferred networks. It was in fact her first comedy film starrer as previous films she shared the main star billing with other stars. She was emotional when she shared that she almost quit showbiz but her manager Tito Boy Abunda has convinced her to stay as he believes that there's still a lot that she could deliver to the audience.

True enough that apart from the box-office success of the film, she's been recognized internationally as with her recent Best Actress win from ASEAN International Film Festival for her film "AREA" that was produced by BG Productions International.

The gathering also honored Mother Lily for the recognition she got from the Film Development Council of the Philippines as she was named "Ina Ng Pelikulang Pilipino" which I totally agree.

Indeed, mothers were winners during the Mother's Day celebration with the success of these two notable personalities in showbizness.

Following the release of "Our Mighty Yaya," cameras have started grinding for Regal Entertainment's upcoming releases, "Woke Up Like This" starring Vhong Navarro and Lovi Poe; the all-female star cast "The Debutantes," and the love story "Recipe for Love."
