Michael Pangilinan Gets Emotional and Sentimental in Sophomore Album

Star Music's newest singing heartthrob and Harana Prince Michael Pangilinan has recently released his second album entitled "Michael."

His career has been in great strides as he becomes one of the sought after OPM artists today. After winning runner-up in "Your Face Sounds Familiar Season 2" and being one of the interpreters of the Himig Handog P-pop Love Songs 5th Best Song, "Parang Tayo Pero Hindi," he has been making rounds in the music scene that has earned him praises and millions of views for his song covers online.

During the his album launch at Music Box Timog held last October 8, Michael had a great jamming session with the bloggers and press as he sang some of the contents of his album. The album contains 13 tracks which will bring its listeners to an emotional and sentimental ride. Michael has composed a song entitled "Tanging Ligaya Ko" which talks  about the journey of a guy from the time he met his girl and his high hopes that their relationship will last forever. It has a very touching lyrics and I felt that Michael is singing a promise of forever to me.

"Michael" contains the carrier single "Hanggang Kailan" that somewhat questions how far can you go for love despite being hurt over and over again. His sound particularly in this song has some influences of Jay R. The song, he considers could be a national anthem of broken-hearted people.

The song "Tayo Na Lang" has a soul R&B genre and can be a potential single that will music listeners will love.

The album also contains OPM revivals but he sang it as if it is his own - Ariel Rivera's "Ayoko Na Sana," -Hajji Alejandro's "Tag-Araw Tag-Ulan."  His covers of Bread's "Everything I Own" and Sarah Mclachlan's "Angel" make his voice having an international appeal.

One of my favorite in the album is the sequel of"Pare Mahal Mo Raw Ako," entitled "Pare Mahal Naman Kita." I found it to be interesting and hopeful where the lyrics emphasized that he loves him but what he can offer is only friendship. He has hesitations that if he will pursue beyond friendship as he's afraid that what they have may be ruined. Waah!

It slso contains five bonus tracks including "Bakit Ba Ikaw," "Kung Sakali," "Pare Mahal Mo Raw Ako," "Crossroads," and "Parang Tayo Pero Hindi."

The album, produced by Rox Santos, can now be streamed on Spotify. It is available nationwide at P199. The digital tracks can also be downloaded via online stores such as ABS-CBN Store, iTunes, Mymusicstore.com.ph, Amazon.com, OneMusic.ph, and Starmusic.ph.
