First timer Michael Pangilinan delivered impressive performance

Harana boy member and Your Face Sounds Familiar season 2 contestant Michael Pangilinan appeared as Crisostomo Ibarra in the classic literature play Kanser, an adaptation of Jose Rizal's "Noli Me Tangere" entitled "KANSER@35 The Musical" as produced by Gantimpala Theater Foundation, Inc.

I was able to witness his impressive performance (this is his first attempt on a musical play) last October 3 at the AFP Theater, Camp Aguinaldo. He was fully grounded with his character, being able to personify the gentleman and patriot that Crisostomo Ibarra is. His heartfelt duet with Myramae Meneses (playing Maria Clara) on their final goodbye was indeed heartbreaking.

Even though he was initially hesitant to do the role as he shared during the interview after the show, I think his manager Jobert Sucaldito was right for insisting him to accept it as it showed his versatility and range as a performer. In fact, he acknowledged that this helped him in his stint in YFSF.

He'll be soon seen in the movie adaptation of his hit song "Pare, Mahal Mo Raw Ako" with Edgar Allan Guzman under the direction of Joven Tan. Also, you need to catch him in "HARANA In Concert" along with Joseph Marco, Marlo Mortel, Bryan Santos on October 16 at the Music Museum.

Meanwhile, please check out the interview we had with him as below.
