A ‘shade’-y special on ‘MLTV’

To come up with the best photo, find the right angle and lighting for the subject before clicking away.

It’s the same rule when upping style points for indoor and outdoor spaces: find the right lighting fixture and place strategically for that balance of illumination and ambience.

“Modern Living TV” knows this well and they prove it in their May 23 episode that is all about homelighting makeover. The show visits one of the biggest decorative lighting manufacturers in the country, Absolute Spaces, during which Architect Jinky Mendoza shines a light on the role and importance of lighting in turning drab to fab.

Has the nondescript lampshade lost its place in a time when there are so many other lighting options to choose from? Not so, says designer MJ Tan. In one of the segments this Saturday, Tan shows the many tricks in transforming the lampshade into a piece of fine art.

Capping “Modern Living TV” this time around is an homage to a cherished landmark in New Manila, where the old Magnolia House once stood before it became The Robinsons Magnolia Residences. This residential condominium development lets residents enjoy a lifestyle characterized by harmonious neighborhoods, child-friendly environment, and a slower, more-relaxed pace of life.

“Modern Living TV” is hosted by Bianca Gonzalez and Stephanie Stephenie Zubiri-Crespi. The show airs Saturdays at 6 p.m. with replays the next day at 10 a.m. both on the ANC Channel.
