Chikkaness Review - Call Center Girl: Hilarious, Relevant Family Story

I've been hoping to watch Pokwang on her finest comedic flair where she could pull seamlessly comedy and drama; and I think the Call Center Girl movie is the right one. The movie proved that she  could act and be hilarious at the same time. She even emerged as a better comedy actress because John Lapuz and K Brosas complemented each other's antics and idiocies. Her comic timing is sharp. The screenplay has a setup that borders on shambles, but the familial heart of it is strong and expressed with so much impact. It's the movie about how absence can make or break a relationship, about the sacrifices that mothers give to provide a better life to their children.  The fun begins when Teresa (Pokwang) returns home after thirteen years of working on cruise ships. Regina (Jessy Mendiola), her youngest child, built resentment over her as she felt abandoned and unloved. Teresa took the opportunity to reconnect with her by applying for a call center job where her salary wi

Kimmy Dora Ang Kiyemeng Prequel Rolls Out Poster and Trailer

For people who's looking for that right blend of adventure and comedy movie this Christmas, Chris Martinez' Kimmy Dora Ang Kiyemeng Prequel is definitely right for us.  The incredible twins Kimmy and Dora have been a household name after it premiered in the movies. The A-list actress Eugene Domingo has not stopped soaring high when she did her launching movie with this movie franchise. One could never forget the hilarious interplay between Eugene's two characters. I could never imagine any other actress who could effectively deliver this tough act.  The previous Kimmy Dora movies have never failed to put me a good laugh and I'm sure the prequel will provide pure and slaphappy entertainment.  Adding to my excitement to watch this movie is the presence of hunk actor Sam Milby. He's really a good sight to behold. Joining the cast are Angel Aquino, Joel Torre and Ariel Ureta. Check out the comic trailer of Kiyeme Dora Ang Kiyemeng Prequel below.

If there's one TV series that emerged as the big winner in the 27th PMPC Star Awards For TV, that is the top-rating fantaserye Juan Dela Cruz. Leading the pack is its main man, Coco Martin who was awarded as Best Drama Actor for his unwavering commitment to have a truthful portrayal of a half human, half aswang hero . He tied the award with Richard Yap of Be Careful With My Heart. He was also awarded as Male Face of the Night. Coco dedicated his award to his mother network and the big bosses who gave him the opportunity to make it primetime television. He also thanked the people behind Juan dela Cruz specifically Rondel Lindayag who has been creating characters for him that people love to follow. Nikki Gil Wins First Acting Award in PMPC Star Awards For TV

Singer-actress Nikki Gil got the nods of the Philippine Movie Press Club with her win as Best Single Performance by an Actress for her absorbing performance in the Ilog episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya. I was able to watch that specific episode and was moved by her portrayal as a family-centered person who was betrayed by her husband and sister. She beat out caliber actresses in the category like Aiai delas Alas, Boots Anson Roa, and Ms Nora Aunor.  Nikki took the honor by surprise when she accepted the award. She could hardly believe of the affirmation that she got that she's doing just right in the acting department.  Certainly, this award will open more doors for her. I wouldn't be surprised if she'll get recognized for her performance in Maria Mercedez next year. Do you agree with this win? Please follow me on my other social networking sites below. Why Slumber Party Is A Movie For Everyone

While most of the gay featured films nowadays try to focus on the sexual aspect of gays, Slumber Party provides an alternative movie adventure that can boast for its witty screenplay, inventive direction, and enthusiastic cast. Unfolding on the eve of the Miss Universe pageant and where the hostage crisis in Quirino grandstand is ongoing, Slumber Party chronicles a memorable night for tribekis - Elle (Marrki Stroem), Jhana (Archie Alemania), and Phi (RK Bagatsing). While they were enjoying each other's company in Phi's house, Jonel (Sef Cadayona), an aspiring frat boy attempted to enter the house but the strength of the tribekis overwhelmed him that the former was held "hostage" to teach him a lesson that he'll not forget. Also featuring Nino Muhlach as the community's gaymother. Slumber Party evolves from what it seems a simple bonding night of these three admirable gay friends to something more substantial, a film with a truthful take of a gay life an

27th PMPC Star Awards for TV Winner: Best Drama Supporting Actress - KC Concepcion

The very first winner in the Best Drama Supporting Actress category in the 27th PMPC Star Awards for TV goes to KC Concepcion for her powerful and riveting performance as Alexis in ABS-CBN's Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala.  This is KC's very first acting award and her acceptance speech was full of thank you even to her driver, make-up artists, PA, and the likes. She was also grateful to her mom, megastar Sharon Cuneta and "sister" Judy Ann Santos who pushed her not only to become a better actress but also as a better person.  It could be considered a gamble from her end when she took a kontrabida role for the soap but it paid off as she got recognized for portraying a character that audiences hated but loved at the end. See who she beat out in the Best Supporting Actress Category... Mercator Model/Artists Play Basketball For The Yolanda Survivors

Jonas Gaffud's Mercator models/artists and Aces & Queens beauty queens gathered last November 21, 2013 at the Magallanes Village Basketball Court, Makati City for a charity basketball game for the benefit of the Yolanda survivors. Tagged as the man behind the beauty queens, Jonas shared that the proceeds will be donated to families in Burauen, Leyte and for scholars of UP Diliman whose families were affected by the typhoon. Present during the event were Benjamin Alves, Daniel Matsunaga, Ervic Vijandre, JC Tiuseco Lemuel Pelayo, Shamcey Supsup, among others.  It was certainly a delight to see these models/artists took a time off and engaged in an activity that do not only benefit their followers (by watching them up close) but also those who have survived in one of the most tragic catastrophe in our country. What they did will surely inspire others to do their share in uplifting the lives of the Taclobanons and Samarnons.  More photos of the event here . P
