Chikkaness Review: KUNG FU DIVAS - A Narrative That's Engaging Despite The Many Action Sequences

This film is smartly made, the humor nicely translated, the leading actors (Ai Ai delas Alas and Marian Rivera) clever and appealing. Ai Ai and Marian were perfectly suited in the lead roles, playing awkward and irritated really well. There is no doubt that the two fine actresses belong to the funniest people in Philippine showbiz nowadays.

Onat Diaz did a full of laughs movie that is well put together. With its solid effects, performances, and direction, Onat proves that he knows what he's doing.

The great thing about Kung Fu Divas is that the narrative stays engaging and holds together despite the many action sequences, and just when you think the film tries to stabilize down, more excitement bursts onto the screen. The film dared to exceed expectations, in a good way, and managed to evolve from "slapstick comedy" to a "topnotch funny film."
